ShadoW leaves movistar KOI and is ready to lead a new team

The Spanish organization Movistar KOI, which holds a spot in the VCT partner league, did not perform well this season, resulting in the departure of two coaching staff members and one player from their Valorant roster. However, yesterday it became known that the changes didn’t stop there, as team captain Tobias "ShadoW" Flodström has also begun searching for a new home.

KOI’s Performance in 2024

As mentioned above, the team’s results were not impressive compared to the top teams in their region. Movistar KOI placed 6th in the VCT 2024: EMEA Kickoff and 11th in both stages of VCT 2024: EMEA Stage 1 and Stage 2. Because of this, the team failed to qualify for any major international tournaments in the Masters series or the World Championship. As expected, the team didn’t earn any prize money this year, which indicates that the organization is likely to change its roster.

Farewell to ShadoW

In his official social media accounts, Tobias "ShadoW" Flodström announced that he is preparing to leave the team. Although his contract with the organization is still valid, the club's management has allowed him to seek new offers. Tobias plans to find a new team but prefers to continue in the role of in-game leader (IGL), which he held at Movistar KOI. The player is confident that he can lead a new team despite the challenges he faced this season.

I’m confident I can lead a team, and although this was one of the toughest years in esports, we still improved from start to finish, and I’m proud of that. I know what I bring to a team and how to make everyone around me better and more confident in their abilities. A loud player who brings energy and calm to the team, and I really want to show that this year doesn’t define me as a player.

It is still unclear where ShadoW plans to go next, as most VCT EMEA teams already have an in-game leader. We’ll keep an eye on his official social media for more details about his future.
