The Singapore-based esports organization Bleed Esports has found itself at the center of a major controversy. In October, Riot Games expelled the team from the international VALORANT league, accusing it of "serious reporting violations and other significant breaches of obligations". Shortly afterward, new allegations emerged regarding unpaid salaries for players and staff.
Former Bleed Esports player, known as yay, revealed shocking details during his stream:
The situation at Bleed Esports was simply catastrophic. Salaries were delayed first by two months, then by three or four. For some players, delays stretched to six months. These weren’t isolated cases.
Yay also claimed that the team owner spent large sums on alcohol and parties while neglecting financial obligations to employees. He recounted that during the team's stay in Korea, unpaid rent for their accommodation led the landlord to personally approach the players demanding payment.
Additionally, reports surfaced that some staff members and contractors, including operators and technical personnel, went bankrupt due to unpaid wages. Prize money payouts also remain outstanding.
