Team Liquid has ambitious plans, which is why they are increasing funding in Valorant by launching an academy roster that will compete in the Challengers league.
According to Sheep Esports and journalist anonimotum, the European club Team Liquid will launch an academy roster that will compete in the new Challengers league. The team has already received an invite and will not need to go through the qualification for the VCL North//East league, formed after the merger of VCL North: Polaris and VCL East: Surge. Previously, Team Liquid had a partnership with Apeks, allowing them to develop players in a joint roster who, if needed, could play in Team Liquid's main roster. However, after Apeks secured a spot in the VCT, the collaboration was terminated.
In 2024, Riot Games allowed franchise league clubs to form and declare their academy rosters. This has led to a real "boom" in the creation of youth teams, especially in the Pacific region, where, according to media reports, only Paper Rex will not have a youth roster.
Following this trend, Team Liquid aims to create a platform for the development of young talents who can replace main roster players in the future, ensuring stability and long-term success for the organization in the Valorant scene.
