Riot Games announced the release of the documentary "The 6th Man," which will tell the story of CigaretteS, the sixth player of Paper Rex, who unexpectedly stepped in as a substitute at Masters Tokyo. The film will be available on YouTube and Twitch.
CigaretteS joined Paper Rex as a substitute player in October 2022. He participated in only one map in the VCT 2023 PACIFIC tournament. However, due to visa issues for the team's duelist, something, being unable to compete at Masters Tokyo, CigaretteS was suddenly included in the starting lineup.
The Thai player, primarily known for playing the initiator role, showcased his skills on a wide range of agents and supported the team by choosing 5 different agents on 5 maps against Evil Geniuses. Thanks to his performance, Paper Rex demonstrated unexpected strength and secured third place despite the absence of their leader.
After Masters Tokyo, CigaretteS, not given more opportunities to play for the team, left Paper Rex in September and continues an active career with Made in Thailand. Previously a streamer, he expressed surprise upon joining the team, saying, "I don't know why PRX chose me."
The documentary will include interviews with CigaretteS, his teammates, and coaches. It will narrate CigaretteS journey from being a substitute player to becoming a key member of the team that secured third place at Masters Tokyo.
The documentary is expected to be of interest to both Valorant fans and those interested in success stories.
