The new update 7.07 brought significant changes. Riot Games decided to give players the freedom to search for matches in groups regardless of the rank of all participants. Now you can play with friends in Premier mode, even if there is a significant rank difference. Recall that with the previous update 7.06, developers introduced restrictions on group searches, and players with the Ascendant rank could only invite players with a Platinum rank or higher to their group.
We understand how important it is to play with friends. Initially, these restrictions were introduced to prevent abuse for the purpose of achieving higher ranks, such as Radiant. In the end, we understood that the ability to play in a 5-man group with friends is more important than the very small number of people who abuse this system. However, we still recognize that ranking up poses a risk to competitive integrity, and we are working on a suitable long-term solution that will not affect your ability to play with friends in a 5-player group.
Additionally, Riot Games is adding multi-threaded rendering to the game, which improves game performance. Now the game will run smoother and faster.
On the Heaven map, the animation of destroying the doors leading to mid has been changed. Now the effect of destroying defensive panels will not block the view in the passage, making it easier to spot opponents.
Bug Fixes
In Patch 7.06, we fixed a bug that allowed the game to output surround sound under certain conditions, but the surround mix was untested and unsupported. VALORANT currently only supports stereo and mono audio output.
- To simulate surround sound on headphones, we offer HRTF settings. We do not recommend using HRTF settings in the game simultaneously with other virtual surround sound programs, as this will result in double processing.
- Note that other virtual surround sound programs cannot extract surround sound information from the stereo mix.
Cypher
- Now Neural Theft (X) completes even if Cypher dies after casting. Fixed an issue where you would remain blinded, watching the light from the flash through Cypher's Spycam (E) at the end of the round.
Gekko
- The range of detecting enemy players in Dizzy (E) now correctly decreases when he is within Viper's Pit (X) area of effect.
Premier
- Fixed an issue where the Attacker team had priority in the game continuation vote.
- Fixed a bug where the second timer appeared after the "Choose Side" vote.
- Fixed a bug that caused game continuation priority voting scenarios to occur in the next round.
