The professional Valorant scene attracts millions of fans, and tournaments where the strongest teams compete feature prize pools of hundreds of thousands of dollars. However, even these factors do not stop Riot from once again providing professional players with low-quality equipment, which happened yesterday during the first day of play at Masters Bangkok 2025.
Details of the Situation
Yesterday, the first match of the Swiss stage of Masters Bangkok 2025 took place between EDward Gaming and Team Liquid. The Chinese team secured a 2-0 victory, but after the match, some concerning details surfaced online. A discussion on Reddit revealed that EDward's star duelist, ZmjjKK, experienced issues with his gaming mouse during the match.
According to a live stream from EDG's manager, he explained that during a technical timeout at 4-4 on the first map, ZmjjKK had to switch to a wired mouse to continue playing. The match broadcast clearly showed that ZmjjKK’s PC started lagging and glitching when using a wireless mouse. This situation once again highlights the urgent need for Riot Games to upgrade their tournament PCs to ensure professional players are not affected by technical limitations in critical moments.

Pro Player Reaction
Shortly after, Team Vitality player Saif "Sayf" Jibraeel commented on the issue. He stated that this problem has existed for a long time, yet Riot Games have not fixed it - only promised to do so.
Riot’s failure to address the ongoing PC issue jeopardizes competitive integrity. This problem only happens on stage, not in practice, yet their ‘solutions’—such as switching to a wired mouse—are unacceptable at this level. Players deserve transparency and proper conditions.

Previous Complaints
This is far from the first time professional players have complained about Riot’s outdated equipment. In the past, former pro player and current streamer TenZ claimed that Riot uses computers from League of Legends tournaments for Valorant events, calling it a terrible decision because:
“LoL can run on a potato, but Valorant can’t - it’s a much more demanding game.”

So far, Riot Games has not commented on the incident, but it is unlikely that even the fact that this happened at a $500,000 international tournament will change the situation. Stay tuned to our portal for all the latest Valorant news.
