Please Don’t Fire is testing a strategy with four duelists at VCL 2024

On March 10, as part of the VCL 2024 Malaysia and Singapore competition, a match took place in the fifth round between the teams Disguised and Please Don't Fire. This match became the subject of discussion due to the use of an unconventional strategy in agent selection.

Disguised, led by popular streamer Disguised Toast, faced off against the team Please Don't Fire. On the first map, Ascent, PDF attempted to use a strategy with three duelists, Yoru, Reyna, and Jett, but suffered defeat in the first match.

On the second map, Split, Please Don't Fire demonstrated an even more aggressive choice of agents, selecting a lineup of four duelists: Astra, Reyna, Jett, and Omen. Although PDF briefly pulled ahead with a score of 11-9, they ultimately lost to DSG with a score of 11-13.

It is worth noting that not long ago, the team Paper Rex tried a similar strategy with four duelists at the VCT 2024: Pacific Kickoff, where they won the match, sparking the same wave of discussion in the gaming community. The question of whether such unconventional strategies, such as a lineup of four duelists, will be used at the Tier1 level remains open.
