Before the start of the new season, various websites and portals share statistics on Valorant for the year 2023. Recently, Liquipedia shared its data, naming the 20 teams that became the most popular in terms of site visits.
The results were quite unexpected, but they also indicate which region's community is most actively following their professional players. Interestingly, the current world champions, Evil Geniuses, did not make it into the top three most popular teams. Instead, Sentinels took second place, despite their relatively poor performance on the competitive scene. The popularity of the American team is primarily due to their content creator Tarik "tarik" Celik, who is the most popular Valorant streamer. In third place are the European tops Fnatic, who became the most successful team of 2023.
Paper Rex is in first place, reaffirming the discipline's popularity in the Pacific region. The top teams in the region showed excellent results last year. The club won the regional season VCT 2023: Pacific League, took third place at VCT 2023: Masters Tokyo, and ended the season as the runner-up in the world championship.
