In the Valorant community, another debate is brewing about the future of broadcasting tournaments. The clash of interests between watch party organizers and supporters of traditional commentators (studio) is intensifying after remarks from a well-known commentator and analyst, who goes by the handle pansy.
It has become commonplace at Valorant tournaments to host watch parties, where popular streamers broadcast the tournament events to their audience. However, this has raised concerns from pansy, who expressed worries that frequent watch parties could diminish the number of people aspiring to become commentators in the future.
I'm sure watch parties have ruined the future for commentators. It's better to focus on watch parties, where you can act freely, than always be on the road, adhere to strict standards, have low income, and not receive recognition from the community.Pansy
I swear costreaming had wrecked future casters.

The pipeline of wanting to be a caster is hard capped when its literally more beneficial to do a watch party.
Like why travel all year, be held to harder standards, make less money and still not be appreciated by the community.
Despite this, supporters of watch parties argue that this practice will become an essential part of the future of esports. They believe that the best streamers will be able to replace commentators, analyze games, conduct interviews, and entertain fans, all on their own.
The debate has sparked significant interest within the gaming community, with both sides garnering support through arguments and comments. However, the question of how this discussion will impact future Valorant tournaments remains open.
