On September 11, the group stage of the last season of VCT 2023: Game Changers EMEA Stage 3 kicked off. In this stage, 16 teams are competing for a prize pool of 30,000 euros, a spot in the women's world championship, and EMEA Points. This article contains a review of Group A after the first match day.

NAVI Celestials vs Case Hydra
The NAVI organization introduced an updated women's lineup, which includes two new players. Detailed information about these players and who they replaced can be found in another of our article. Regarding the match, it seems that the changes in the NAVI Celestials lineup were successful. The team effortlessly beat the Spanish club Case Hydra with a score of 2:0 (Split 13:6, Haven 13:8), but both new players did not perform very well if we look at the game statistics.
G2 Gozen vs Falcons Vega
The absolute champions of the European region, G2 Gozen, encountered some difficulties from the newcomers of the season, who made it to this tournament by finishing second in the Contenders League. Two of the three maps were very tense, with outcomes determined in extra rounds. If the newcomers had shown more confidence, they could have easily beaten the champions. In a tight battle, G2 Gozen won the match with a score of 2:1 (Fracture 14:12, Split 15:17, Ascent 13:8).
BBL Queens vs Guild X
One of the leading teams, BBL Queens, met one of the weakest teams of the season. The match went without any intrigue and ended with an obvious victory for BBL Queens. They easily won the match with a score of 2:0, giving up only 8 rounds across two maps (Ascent 13:6, Split 13:2).
