On March 18th, the fifth day of the VCT 2024 Masters Madrid tournament took place. Karmine Corp suffered a defeat with a score of 1-2 against Paper Rex and was eliminated from the tournament, but the team captain, Magnum, commented on what they faced in the match at the press conference after the game.
Despite closely contested matches, including overtime, Karmine Corp suffered a 1-2 defeat to Paper Rex in the elimination match of the group stage. In response to a question about what specifically Paper Rex did to hinder Karmine Corp game, Magnum, acting as captain, stated:
I think their style of play is foolish. They play with disrespect. They just overwhelmed us at the beginning of the match, and we made a lot of stupid mistakes. If you play correctly, playing against them is really easy, as we understood from this defeat. In the second half of the match, it would have been even easier. There was just some confusion at the macro level. I think Bind is one of the most challenging maps.
btw I didnt mean to call PRX playstyle as overall stupid, I meant to talk mainly about them purposely throwing 5v3 etc, but who am I to talk, when I lost to them.

He also added that he did not intend to consider PRX style of play as a whole stupid, but rather pointed out that the team missed an opportunity in the 5v3 match. He emphasized that it is pointless to say anything after a defeat.
Karmine Corp demonstrated a good result at Kickoff EMEA, allowing them to enter the international arena for the first time. Can they return to the Masters stage relying on this experience? The team will participate in VCT 2024 EMEA Stage 1, which will start on April 2, competing for a place at Masters Shanghai.
