KRU Esports parts ways with NagZ after three-year collaboration

KRU Esports has decided not to renew the contract with Juan Pablo "NagZ" Lopez Miranda after three years of collaboration and has allowed him to explore new offers for the upcoming season. This was made known through the player's post on his personal Twitter page.

I'm still under contract with KRÜ, but I've been allowed to explore offers/options. I'm more motivated than ever and open to all VCT options.

Current KRU Esports roster:

  • Nicolas "Klaus" Ferrari
  • Santiago "Daveeys" Ruiz
  • Marco "Melser" Machuca
  • Angelo "keznit" Mori
  • Carlos "axeddy" Galvão
  • Jorge "Atom" Noriega (coach)
  • Alan "ddx" Salvati (strategic coach)

Reason for the roster change

It's no surprise that the roster changes were due to the team's terrible performance this year. Even the fact that the team surprised everyone by qualifying for Valorant Champions 2023 didn't change the situation, as they lost both matches in this tournament, finishing in the last places.

NagZ and KRU Esports

Juan Pablo "NagZ" Lopez Miranda joined KRU Esports on August 12, 2021, as a controller. Over almost three years, the team participated in over 30 events. After his arrival, the team elevated to a different level, showing impressive results on the international stage and dominating in their region. However, post-2021, the team began to show declining results and dropped to a below-average position in global tournaments.

KRU Esports performed even worse in 2023. The team finished last in the VCT LOCK//IN São Paulo 2023 and lost all matches in the VCT Americas League 2023, ranking 10th. However, they managed to surprise everyone at the VCT Americas Last Chance Qualifier 2023 by winning the qualifier and earning a spot at VALORANT Champions 2023. Unfortunately, in this tournament, the team couldn't win a single map and finished 13-16th.

KRU Esports Achievements with NagZ:

  • VALORANT Champions 2021 (3-4th place)
  • VCT 2021: Stage 3 Masters - Berlin (5-8th place)
  • VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters - Reykjavík (7-8th place)
  • VCT 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen (9-10th place)
  • VALORANT Champions 2022 (9-12th place)

Who will replace the player?

It's hard to determine who might replace him in the team, as teams have just begun reviewing their rosters, and there's limited public information to draw conclusions. Perhaps the club management won't be looking for a new player and will continue playing with Carlos "axeddy" Galvão, who has been on the bench for some time.
