"It's not an excuse, but there was no time for training" - Fnatic Manager comments on the recent loss

The regular season of VCT in the EMEA region started yesterday, and the results of the first matches turned out to be very unexpected. Following the defeat, the top teams of the European scene, Fnatic, commented on the negative results and named specific reasons why this happened.

It is worth recalling that in one of the first matches, Fnatic faced Team Heretics. Considering the previous competitive season, this meeting was counted as a clash of favorites and underdogs, but the result turned out to be quite unexpected. As a result of two maps, Team Heretics defeated their opponents with a score of 2-0, which surprised the entire community. A few hours after the match, the manager of the "Oranges" - Colin “CoJo” Johnson commented on the loss and explained why it happened.

To provide some context (and not an excuse), this week we suffered from illness (stomach flu, people were vomiting and sleeping on the bathroom floor). We did not practice on Sunday or Monday, were without coaches for 3 days last week, and had 2-3 days that only went halfway. The last day of full power practice was last Monday. But yes, shit happens, we can’t control it.

The team manager reported that the entire team was not in the best health in the last few days. After a period of stomach illnesses, the team trained only one full day, while on other days, training only took a few hours. Also, the team representative stated that there are things that the team cannot control, so such a result was inevitable.

Fnatic will play their next match against GIANTX, in less than a week. We hope that the players will recover by then and will be able to confirm their status as favorites in the game.
