Gen.G announces Munchkin return to the Valorant roster

On October 15, the esports organization Gen.G officially confirmed the return of player Munchkin to its Valorant team. Although it was previously announced that his contract had ended, he is rejoining the roster as the IGL (In-Game Leader) for the upcoming 2025 season.

Munchkin Early Career and Achievements

The 26-year-old Munchkin began his esports career in 2016, competing in Overwatch, where he represented teams such as Seoul Dynasty and Boston Uprising in the Overwatch League. In 2020, he transitioned to Valorant, starting with Cloud9 Korea before joining the Japanese team Crazy Raccoon. With Crazy Raccoon, he achieved significant success, including victories in VCT 2021 Japan Stage 1 and Stage 2, as well as participating in international tournaments.

In April 2022, Munchkin left Crazy Raccoon and joined T1, which was competing in the North American region at the time. The team later returned to the Korean scene, participating in the Pacific League. After a mixed start at VCT 2023 LOCK//IN, T1 secured 3rd place at VCT PACIFIC 2023 and qualified for international tournaments Masters Tokyo and Champions.

In September 2023, Munchkin announced his departure from T1 and joined Gen.G in November. With the team, he secured victory at VCT PACIFIC 2024 KICK-OFF, finished second at VCT 2024 Masters Madrid, and won his first international tournament title at VCT 2024 Masters Shanghai. Despite an early exit at VALORANT Champions 2024, where the team was eliminated in the group stage, his overall performance throughout the season was impressive.

Now, Munchkin returns to Gen.G to lead the team once again and help them achieve new heights in the 2025 season.
