BuZz joins T1 after two years with DRX

Changes in the Pacific scene continue, with teams bringing in new players, mostly from within their region. Today, it was announced that Yu "BuZz" Byung-chul, who spent the last two years with DRX, has finally found a new team - T1.

Farewell to the core lineup

The roster changes at T1 are not surprising, as the team recently parted ways with four core players who represented the organization last season. Unfortunately, they were unable to achieve significant results. T1 finished 3rd at the VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 1, securing an invitation to the VCT 2024: Masters Shanghai. However, the team became the first to be eliminated, finishing in 11th-12th place. After that, T1 did not participate in any further international events, making roster changes inevitable. Yu "BuZz" Byung-chul is not the first player to join T1 ahead of the new season, but he is one of the most experienced and recognized names in the Pacific Valorant scene. Over the past two years with DRX, BuZz has achieved notable success, including:

  • 3rd place at VALORANT Champions 2022
  • 3rd-4th place at VCT 2023: LOCK//IN São Paulo
  • 5th-6th place at VALORANT Champions 2023
  • 2nd place at VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 2
  • 5th-6th place at VALORANT Champions 2024

With such accomplishments, BuZz has become one of the key transfers of 2025, and his move to a renowned team like T1 has been met with excitement from his fans.

It is also worth noting that DRX will have several tournaments during the off-season, including the Gwangju Esports Series Asia 2024 and Red Bull Home Ground #5 - APAC Play-In. These events will give the team valuable experience together before the start of the competitive season.
