EDward Gaming and Trace Esports take last places at Gwangju Esports Series Asia 2024

The 2024 Valorant Champions, EDward Gaming, along with Trace Esports, occupy the last places at Gwangju Esports Series Asia 2024. The tournament ended with the dominance of the Korean region over the Chinese teams.

Disappointing performance

Two months ago, EDward Gaming secured the main trophy of the year – Valorant Champions, but on November 3, they finished in one of the last places at Gwangju Esports Series Asia 2024, sharing it with another Chinese team, Trace Esports. EDward Gaming did not win a single map in both of their best-of-three matches.

Gwangju Esports Series Asia 2024 took place from November 2 to 3. Four teams were invited to the tournament: two from Korea and two from China. Teams from one region played one match each with teams from the other region. As a result, the Chinese teams lost all their matches and did not win a single map in total.

Tournament not a priority

For the teams, this tournament was not a priority, so the results should not be taken too seriously. It was more of a show tournament. On November 21, EDward Gaming will participate in a more significant offseason tournament – the VALORANT Radiant Asia Invitational, where their form can be assessed against the updated rosters of other teams.
