Ascension 2024 EMEA Champions leave Apeks Valorant roster

The Apeks organization has announced the departure of two players — Kajetan "kaajak" Haremski and Dom "soulcas" Sulcas — as well as assistant coach Casper "Desmo" Rasmussen. This decision comes shortly after their triumph in the Ascension 2024 EMEA tournament.

A Story of Success

On September 15, the Apeks Valorant roster achieved their most valuable victory of the season, winning the Ascension 2024 EMEA grand final. This victory secured them a slot in the VCT, giving them opportunities to compete for places at the Masters and World Championship and significantly improving the club's financial standing. However, on October 25, the club unexpectedly announced the departure of two core players and the assistant coach, signaling that Apeks will enter VCT with a revised lineup.

Player Departures

The primary reason behind the players’ departure is likely more lucrative offers from other teams. According to rumors, soulcas has received an offer from KOI, while kaajak is set to join Fnatic. Following these departures, the remaining Apeks lineup includes:

  • Auni "AvovA" Chahade
  • Tautvydas "hype" Paldavicius
  • Michał "MOLSI" Łącki

Challenges Ahead for Apeks

Apeks now faces the difficult task of replacing two key players to not only maintain the team’s competitiveness but also strengthen it. This is crucial, as their competition will be significantly tougher in 2025. Given the team’s limited budget, which lags behind that of top Tier-1 clubs, Apeks will need to find creative solutions to stay competitive.
