On June 1st, the third day of the first week of the North American regional tournament VCL 2024 NA Stage 2 took place. In the first match, TSM secured a victory over Blinn with a score of 2-1, but in the second match on the Breeze map, a player substitution occurred: instead of aproto, sherb was forced to play for TSM.
After the match, aproto reported that he left the game due to feeling unwell, but his condition has since improved. He wrote on Twitter that he suffers from WPW (Wolff-Parkinson-White) syndrome, which causes his heart rate to spike. He clarified that in the first round on the Breeze map, his heart rate surged to 240 beats per minute, which was a dangerous condition.
Sorry for the concern. I'm okay now. I have Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, which can cause my heart rate to spike. This happens rarely (the last time was two years ago). In the first round of the Breeze map, my heart rate spiked to 240 beats per minute and wouldn't go down. I tried to keep playing, but it was very difficult. Luckily, the team managed, and sherb did a great job replacing me.
Hey twitter, sorry for the scare. I’m all good now. I have a heart condition called WPW in which my heart rate can suddenly jump up to insane speeds. It happens very infrequently ( last one was 2 years ago). On round 1 of breeze my heart rate shot up to 240 and stayed like that

A similar player substitution occurred on May 28th at the VCJ 2024 Split 2 Main Stage1 tournament in the match between RID and SG. Due to a computer issue, player JoxJo couldn't continue playing, and from the 15th round, he was replaced by coach Vorz. RID eventually won with a score of 13-5. Player substitutions during a match are rare, but what makes this case particularly unusual is that in the match between TSM and Blinn, a free agent sherb played instead of the main team player.
