On May 28th, an unexpected event occurred at the VALORANT Challengers Japan 2024 Split 2 Main Stage tournament. During the match between the RIDDLE and Sengoku Gaming teams on the first map, there was a game client error for the player JoxJo. This led to the coach of the RIDDLE team, known as Vorz, having to take on the role of the player and continue the game.
The technical issue occurred in the 15th round of the "Sunset" map, and after a break of more than an hour and a half, it was announced that JoxJo return was not expected due to the error.
According to the rules of the VALORANT Challengers Japan 2024 tournament, the team has the right to find a replacement for a player in case of an emergency during the match. Therefore, the RIDDLE team decided to replace the player with coach Vorz.
The match resumed with RIDDLE holding a significant advantage at 11-3. Coach Vorz took JoxJo place. In the 16th round, Vorz secured one kill and performed well in a 1v3 situation, but failed to execute a successful clutch. Despite the absence of the team captain JoxJo, attention was focused on the further development of the match, which ended with RIDDLE victory on the first map with a score of 13-5.
The second and third maps of the RIDDLE vs. Sengoku Gaming match are postponed until tomorrow. Details of the new schedule will be announced later by official sources.
