A Turkish dataminer shared new rumors about Valorant: The next skin set, and Valorant on consoles

Last night, the well-known Turkish dataminer and content creator Valohabercisi published new rumors regarding Valorant. In his Twitter account, he shared information about a possible melee weapon skin and the release of the game on gaming consoles.

The information about gaming consoles was first reported by a channel related to the mobile version of the game - Valorant Mobile Leaks & News. Its author assured that the testing of Valorant on PlayStation and XBOX consoles will start in 2024. Valohabercisi also confirmed this information and stated that lately, there have been more references to gamepads and gaming joysticks in the game files. It should be noted that rumors about this appeared on the internet a month ago when Riot Games opened a vacancy for a technical manager to handle the game's support on gaming consoles. The Turkish content creator also mentioned that he has information about an upcoming melee weapon skin. Although this information is not confirmed, the dataminer reports that the future knife will be designed and mechanically similar to a Kusarigama.

This is a traditional Japanese cold weapon, often consisting of two sickles connected by a chain, or a single sickle with a chain, at the end of which is an object like a small weight or a shuriken. It is not yet known whether this will be just one melee weapon skin or perhaps the future set will be entirely in a Japanese theme.

Regarding Valorant on gaming consoles, it can be assumed that the developers from Riot Games plan to make a major announcement and release the console version along with the mobile version. As for the possible skin, most likely we will see it with the start of the first act of the eighth episode, which may be dedicated to a Japanese theme.
