On February 20, one of the most anticipated Valorant tournaments of the season – Masters Bangkok 2025 – kicks off. The strongest teams from around the world, most of whom have updated their rosters ahead of the season, will compete for half of the total prize pool. This tournament may determine the first participants of the upcoming World Championship at the end of the season.

Eight of the best teams that qualified through their regional Kickoff tournaments will compete for the trophy. They will represent the four major Valorant regions:

• Pacific: DRX, T1
• Americas: G2 Esports, Sentinels
• EMEA: Team Vitality, Team Liquid
• China: EDward Gaming, Trace Esports

These teams will battle not only for the trophy but also for VCT points, which will determine the slots for Champions at the end of the season.

Tournament Format

Masters Bangkok 2025 will consist of two main stages: the Swiss stage and the playoffs.

Swiss Stage (February 20-24)

The eight teams will start in a Swiss format, playing bo3 (best of three) matches. Teams that secure two victories will advance to the playoffs, while teams with two losses will be eliminated. Only four teams will progress to the next stage.

Playoffs (February 27 - March 2)

The top four teams will compete in a double-elimination bracket. The lower bracket final and the grand final will be played in a bo5 (best of five) format, while all other matches will be bo3 (best of three).

Prize Pool

The total prize pool of the tournament is $500,000, along with VCT points, which will determine the participants of Valorant Champions 2025.

With only eight teams from all regions competing, there are no weak opponents in this tournament. However, one team stands out as the least expected to win, yet still has a real shot at claiming the trophy. The title of the "dark horse" fittingly goes to Team Liquid.

Fueled by high morale and an incredible final stretch at VCT 2025: EMEA Kickoff, where they eliminated the main favorite with a 3-0 score and led 2-0 in the grand final, Liquid could continue their triumphant run in Bangkok.
