Ava “florescent” Eugene was one of the most famous players on Game Changers in the past, and now on the Valorant VCT scene. But recently it became known that after the start of the competitive season, she is taking a break from the professional scene, and will stop participating in tournaments by the end of this year. This sad news disappointed the fans and all the viewers of the VCT scene. That's why we decided to collect 6 moments that made florescent memorable on the Valorant professional scene, so that fans would not forget about her, even during the inactivity period.
Two-time Canadian champion
The first unusual achievement of florescent lies in her origin and her two-time championship title. The fact is that despite the size and large population of Canada, there are very few professional players of this nationality in Valorant, only a little over 100 according to Liquipedia. Florescent is one of two players of Canadian origin to win two Game Changers championships in a row.

It is worth noting that florescent was named MVP at both world championships, making her the only Canadian player with such a personal record.
Record holder for the number of kills
Back in 2023, when florescent performed on the Game Changers stage, she set a new record for the number of kills, which has not yet been broken. In the grand finals of the Game Changers 2023 Championship, Shopify Rebellion met Team Liquid Brazil, and the match lasted for 5 maps. It was during these maps that florescent scored 112 kills, setting a new record that has not been broken even today, in 2025.

Thanks to this, Shopify Rebellion became the winners of the match, which brought the team the title of tournament champion. And the tournament organizers, in turn, congratulated florescent on the victory and the new record.

The first and only player to move from Game Changers to VCT
Of course, the main achievement of florescent is that she is the only player who managed to move from the Game Changers scene directly to VCT and become part of the Riot partner team.

This happened at the end of 2024, when the European team Apeks, which became the champion of VCT Ascension EMEA 2024, received a slot in the affiliate league and presented an updated roster, which included florescent . This was the first official case when a player from Game Changers was able to move to VCT.
It should be noted that florescent opened the way and inspired the girls from Game Changers to try their hand at other leagues. The American player katsumi and the new Shopify Rebellion Gold roster are now actively participating in the Challengers tier 2, showing that Game Changers girls can go beyond their leagues.
Huge collection of gaming mice
In addition to personal records in Valorant, florescent is also remembered for her interesting hobby. As it has recently become known, the player collects gaming mice, and he has already collected more than 60 of them. During VCT EMEA Stage 1, gaming host Yinsu "Yinsu" Collins conducted a short interview with florescent, during which it became known that the player actually has a closet with more than 60 computer mice at home.
Unfortunately, we don't know what kind of mice they are and what they look like, but maybe after the fans get interested in them, florescent will show their photos on its social networks.
High level of shooting
The key factor that helped florescent achieve two championship titles and earn a slot in the VCT is her shooting skills, and she has really high ones. Before the start of the 2025 season, many assumed that florescent would fail when competing against the strongest teams and that her level would not be enough for the VCT scene.
But with the start of the EMEA season, all doubts were dispelled. Florescent had no problem destroying her opponents like she did in Game Changers, and despite the fact that her team didn't win often, she usually ended the match with a positive KD value. Below you can see one of her many aces made with Operator at the current VCT EMEA Stga 1 tournament.

Florescent herself doesn't hide her shooting skills either. A few months ago, she posted a video on her YouTube channel in which she collected a selection of her best kills. You can watch them below.

No victories
As sad as it may sound, florescent is also remembered for her lack of victories. The fact is that since the beginning of 2025, when she started playing at VCT, her team Apeks has not won a single match. At the VCT 2025 EMEA Kickoff, the team lost both matches and left the tournament without a slot at the Masters.
- Apeks 0: 2 Gentle Mates
- Apeks 1: 2 Team Liquid

At the current VCT 2025 EMEA Stage 1 qualifiers, the situation was even worse. Florescent and Apeks lost all five matches and lost their chance to compete for a slot at the next Masters tournament in Toronto.
- Apeks 1:2 Natus Vincere
- Apeks 1:2 Team Heretics
- Apeks 0:2 Fnatic
- Apeks 0:2 Team Vitality
- Apeks 0:2 GIANTX

As it becomes clear, although florescent has an incredibly high shooting rate, it hasn't helped her team, and as of today, she hasn't won a single match since the start of the 2025 season. This was also one of the reasons why the player decided to take a break from the Valorant competition scene.
