Vitality's head coach Danny “zonic” Sørensen will miss the team's upcoming Gamers8 2023 tournament for personal reasons. The event, with a prize pool of $1,000,000, will take place from August 16 to 20 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Assistant coach Mathieu “MaT” Leber, who has been with the team since early 2020, will replace the Dane at the tournament.

zonic has always been a master of timely breaks and knew how to reach out to his teams at the right moment. Therefore, Gamers8 2023 could be a real test for the squad. On the other hand, the core of Vitality (Dan "apEX" Madesclaire, Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, and Emil “Magisk” Reif) is very experienced and should be able to handle challenges on their own.

Vitality's first opponent at Gamers8 2023 will be MIBR, whom the team met at IEM Rio 2023 and easily defeated with a score of 2:0. It's entirely possible that the outcome will be the same this time.
