Organizer PGL has confirmed three major Counter-Strike 2 tournaments in 2026 and 2027. The main competition will be PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026, which will take place from February 9 to 23 at BTarena. The tournament will bring together 16 of the world's best teams that will receive direct invitations through the global VRS rankings.

PGL also announced two additional tournaments in 2027:

• PGL CS2 February Event - February 8-22, 2027
• PGL CS2 March Event - March 16-29, 2027

Format and invitation of teams

The tournament will feature 16 teams that will receive direct invitations according to the VRS ranking as of January 5, 2026. The best teams will receive invitations according to their ranking, starting from the 1st place.

There will be no qualification for the tournament - all slots will be distributed only among the teams that are in the top 16 of the world rankings at the time of the invitations announcement.

Prize pool

There is $1.25 million at stake, which will be distributed as follows:

• 🥈 1st place - $450,000
• 2nd place - $200 000
• 3rd place - $137 500
• 4th place - $87 500
• 5-8 places - $50 000
• 9-11 places - $31 250
• 12-14 places - $18 750
• 15-16 places - $12,500

Important rules of PGL Cluj-Napoca 2026

• Registration of the lineup: A team can receive a direct invitation only if at least three players remain on the roster from the moment the invitations are announced.
• Refusal to participate: If a team declines an invitation or is unable to participate, its slot will be passed on to the next team in the VRS rankings.
• Visa requirements: If a team fails to obtain a visa by the deadline, its invitation will be transferred to another organization in the ranking.
• Valve bans: If a player or multiple players receive a ban from Valve, the team may lose their invitation.
• Conflicts of interest: Players and teams must not have a financial interest in the opposing team.

Innovations in the PGL rules

PGL has also introduced a new rule that a team will not receive an invitation if they have accepted an invitation to a previous PGL tournament but did not show up.
