M80 became the champions of the ESL Challenger League Season 48: North America, defeating NRG 3-1 in the grand final. The tournament was held online from July 15 to October 20, 2024, and had a prize pool of $80,000.

The final series began with a confident victory of M80 on the Anubis map with a score of 13:1. However, NRG managed to respond on Inferno, where they won 13:9. The final two maps, Ancient, were for M80, who won both maps with a 13:3 score.

Key players of the match

M80 was able to demonstrate a dominant game thanks to the outstanding individual performance of their players. Swisher became the MVP of the final, finishing the series with a rating of 7.8 and K/D +33. He, along with lake and s1n, was the main driving force behind M80, dominating each of the maps.

On the NRG side, the best result was shown by oSee, who finished the match with K/D +3, but his efforts were not enough to win.

Prize pool and qualifications

M80 received $25,000 for the first place and qualification to the ESL Pro League S21. NRG, who took second place, also qualified for the Pro League and received $15,000.

The tournament was another confirmation of M80's dominance in North American CS2, while NRG continues to find a way to consistently perform at a high level.
