In an unconventional match for 3rd place at PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025, Astralis and FaZe faced off. The winner of the match will receive an additional $62,500 for third place, as well as the much-needed VRS points, which are still crucial for issuing invitations despite some ongoing issues.

The first map was Mirage, chosen by FaZe, who, along with Astralis, put on a real show, creating the feel of a grand final. The teams performed well, so the game did not end in regular time but went into overtime, where they once again demonstrated excellent play and could only finish the game in the twenty-eighth additional round, which FaZe managed to win, resulting in a 28:24 victory. 

The second map was Inferno, where Astralis looked strong and smoothly reached a score of 12:4. They then lost four rounds in a row, leading many to say yesterday's history with MOUZ was repeating. However, a miracle did not occur, and Astralis managed to claim the map with a 13:8 score. 

The third map was Ancient, where the first half ended with a close 6:6, as FaZe managed to come back, especially when the score had been 5:1. In the second half, Astralis appeared stronger and confidently took 7 rounds while FaZe only secured 3. Therefore, Astralis sensationally defeated FaZe 13:9 on the final map, allowing them to claim $150,000 and VRS ranking points.

PGL Cluj-Napoca 2025 takes place from February 14 to 23 in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Sixteen teams are participating in the tournament with a prize pool of $1,250,000. You can follow the schedule and results of the event here.
