BLAST appeals to ESIC over investigation into emergency Astralis replacement

The organizer of BLAST Premier: Fall Final 2024, BLAST, has officially asked the ESIC (Esports Integrity Commission) to investigate the emergency replacement of Astralis. This decision was made due to conflicting information received by the organizer in the process of considering the team's request.

The situation with the request for an emergency replacement

The situation began to develop after Astralis asked BLAST to replace the player Alexander “br0” Breaux with Casper “cadiaN” Meller, claiming that br0 had medical problems. Despite this, the player's agent denied these claims, claiming that br0 is “completely healthy and ready to play”.

Conflicting information from both sides

BLAST reported that in recent days it has been holding talks with Astralis and the player's representatives to finally clarify the situation. However, both sides expressed different positions on the case, prompting the organizer to ask the ESIC to conduct an official investigation.

Further actions

The ESIC will formally launch an investigation to find out all the details of the incident and establish whether there were any irregularities in the emergency replacement application process.
