AMKAL has confirmed its participation in the Skyesports Championship 2024 in Mumbai, India. The $300,000 tournament will take place from July 23 to 29, and there are only two spots left to be filled through direct invitations.
Skyesports previously announced the expansion of the tournament, which now features 12 teams. AMKAL will join the ranks of The MongolZ, Eternal Fire, BetBoom, FURIA, 3DMAX, ENCE and Aurora. Local teams Revenant and True Rippers will also be participating in the tournament.
The team recently lost star sniper Kaisar "ICY" Faiznurov. It was rumored that ICY may move to Cloud9, this comes after ICY was sent to the AMKAL bench to investigate alleged foul behavior, leading to his departure shortly after.
Since Skyesports Championship 2024 will be AMKAL's first event after the summer, they need to find a replacement for ICY. For the AMKAL organization, this will be the 3rd LAN tournament in their history, where the first two were PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 and RMR for this tournament.
