Deadlock: New Ranks and Ranked System

Valve's Deadlock has recently introduced its new ranked system, bringing a fresh competitive edge to the popular MOBA shooter. This system emphasizes consistent weekly performance and a structured progression of ranks. Players are required to play at least 50 normal matches before unlocking ranked mode. Once unlocked, players must play a minimum of seven ranked matches each week to maintain or improve their rank. Failure to meet this requirement results in being demoted to the provisional rank, known as Obscurus, where all players initially start.

There are 12 ranks in Deadlock, each with six subranks I-VI that players can progress through. The ranks are as follows:

  1. Obscurus
  2. Initiate
  3. Seeker
  4. Alchemist
  5. Arcanist
  6. Ritualist
  7. Emissary
  8. Archon
  9. Oracle
  10. Phantom
  11. Ascendant
  12. Eternus

Players climb these ranks based on weekly performance, and at the end of each week, their rank is recalculated based on their matches. This system ensures that ranks remain competitive and relevant, keeping players engaged week after week. The ranked mode operates within specific time windows each day to optimize matchmaking quality.

This system has been well-received by the community, offering both casual and competitive players a chance to test their skills and continuously strive for higher ranks. Additionally, the introduction of ranked tournaments provides even more incentive for high-level play, with real-money prizes and prestige on the line.
