Episode 2 of Dispatch, titled Onboard, focuses on the protagonist’s first working day at the Superhero Dispatch Network. The player is introduced to key characters, the organization’s internal workings, and the core gameplay mechanic — managing heroes during emergency calls. This episode features many dialogue choices, some of which influence relationships with other characters.
Episode Start: The Waiting Room
The episode begins with a conversation with Waterboy in the waiting room. You discuss a commercial he appeared in. All dialogue options here are purely stylistic and do not affect the story or relationships.
Meeting Blonde Blazer
Blonde Blazer escorts the protagonist to the conference room and provides a brief introduction. The first dialogue includes joke responses that have no consequences. However, the second choice does affect relationships:
- supporting her position improves relations;
- stating that the situation was a mistake keeps things neutral;
- making a dismissive comment worsens her attitude toward the protagonist.

Meeting Invisigal
After receiving your work uniform, you meet Invisigal. Dialogue choices in this scene shape the overall impression but have no long-term consequences. This is followed by a short office tour, where all responses are also cosmetic.
Restroom Scene with Royd
This is one of the more important moments for building relationships. The player can respond to Royd’s friendly gesture:
- reciprocating it has a positive effect on the relationship;
- refusing causes the relationship to develop more slowly. Subsequent dialogue choices in this scene do not matter.
Records Room and Meeting Chase
In the records room, you meet Chase. None of the dialogue options affect the plot, but they help flesh out his character. After the conversation, access is unlocked to information about the Phoenix Program heroes, which will be useful during the dispatch segment.

Dispatch Shift: Managing Calls
The main gameplay section of the episode begins. You receive emergency calls and decide which heroes to send on missions. Success depends on choosing the right heroes for each type of threat. Poor decisions can lead to complications, but they do not block progression.
Incident at Granny’s Donuts
Invisigal heads out on a call to a bakery on her own. During this scene, several choices are available:
- a conversation about a favorite donut does not affect the story but is tracked in global player statistics;
- during the fight, different commands alter how the scene plays out, though not its final outcome;
- the key moment is the order regarding how to neutralize the threat — regardless of your choice, Invisigal does the opposite, highlighting her personality and attitude toward authority.

Break and Dialogue with Invisigal
After the incident, a calmer conversation takes place. The choices here have no immediate consequences but help establish the tone of the relationship going forward.

End of the Shift
Near the end of the episode, the protagonist talks with Blonde Blazer and Chase. One choice concerns explaining an injury:
- neutral explanations have no consequences;
- shifting the blame onto Invisigal worsens relations with Blonde Blazer.
Final Scene with Blonde Blazer
The last conversation may carry a romantic undertone. Inviting her to dinner is remembered by the game, and the follow-up response either improves or damages the relationship depending on its tone.
Most dialogue options are cosmetic, but several key choices meaningfully affect relationships with characters. The player gradually settles into the dispatcher role, learns to analyze situations, and gains a deeper understanding of each hero’s personality.
