On April 23, the new, fourth season of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight began, marking the beginning of a new journey for players in search of adventures, challenges, rewards, achievements, and various activities in the vastness of the Dragon Islands. One of the elements of the current season was the update of raids. However, we didn't get any new raid dungeons, but only a repetition of the old ones we already know: Vault of the Incarnates, Aberrus, the Shadowed Crucible, and Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope. However, they offer an increased level of difficulty, with better items and rewards, as well as a new raid affix. In this Dragonflight Season 4 Raids overview we will check all things about awakened raids.
Starting on April 23, players will be able to raid a dungeon with the Awakened difficulty status for seven weeks, which in turn increases the level and value of items that will drop from bosses after they die and complete the dungeon.
Raids of Awakened difficulty will receive a special buff or affix called Awakened Raid, which increases the difficulty of raid dungeons each week. However, the description of the affix does not provide any detailed information about how this difficulty is increased.
Monks
Mistweaver Monks in World of Warcraft are known for their exceptional healing abilities. Using their martial arts, they not only deal significant damage to enemies but also convert some of the damage they deal into healing for their allies. Despite the 6% decrease in the effectiveness of their main healing abilities in Patch 10.2.6, they remain one of the most effective healers in the fourth season of the game.
The high mobility of monks is important in raids where you need to move quickly on the battlefield to avoid enemy attacks. Techniques such as Roll and Transcendence allow them to quickly change positions and effectively support their allies. In addition, monks have abilities to control enemies, such as Leg Sweep and Ring of Peace, which allows them to stop enemies and protect the team.
The Revival ability to instantly heal the entire group and the Life Cocoon ability to create a protective shield for the tank make monks key players in raids. Their ability to quickly regenerate health and high damage output make them one of the most valuable healers and DPS characters in the new Dragonflight season.
Death Knight
The Death Knight's ability to use Death Strike to self-heal makes him a reliable tank but requires managing his Runic Power with other abilities. The Blood specialisation is equipped with highly effective defensive and offensive tools that allow the Death Knight to absorb damage efficiently, allowing the rest of the team to focus on healing and damage dealing. Death Knights excel in battles with large groups of enemies or bosses, providing a high level of DPS.
Heroes of this class have a rich arsenal of abilities that suit different combat situations, including Anti-Magic Shell, Icebound Fortitude, Lichborne, and Vampiric Blood. His rotation is predictable but simple, making it easy for both beginners and experienced players to adapt and optimise his full potential. This flexibility makes the Death Knight an ideal choice for raid leaders who need a tank that can quickly adapt to changing battle conditions.
Demonology Warlock
The Demonology Warlock is a spellcaster class in World of Warcraft that specialises in summoning demons to fight on their side. Using powerful black magic, these spellcasters can deal damage, control crowds (CC), and focus on attacking specific targets. They are effective in dungeons and raids in particular, this is due to their mass control abilities and high DPS. Abilities such as Fear and Axe Toss allow them to slow or stop enemies. Thanks to Hand of Gul'dan and Implosion, Demonology Warlocks can deal damage to many enemies at once, making them indispensable combatants.
Since the difficulty level of the updated raids is higher, the level and power of the items from them is also higher.
Dragonflight Season 4 raid gear:
In the new season, players will have the opportunity to level up Nasz'uro, the Unbound Legacy and Fyr'alath the Dreamrender Fyr'alath the Dreamrender to the fourth season item level of Dragonflight. This is possible thanks to the new Scale of Awakening item, which increases the item to 502 ilvl and allows it to be further upgraded with Crests and Flightstones. In this way, players can improve their legendary items from last season in the current seasonal content.
For killing the last bosses of each raid dungeon (Raszageth, Sarkareth, Fyrakk), players will receive special Antique Bronze Bullion and Awakened Tempostone tokens. You can get one Antique Bronze Bullion per character per week. This type of token can be used to buy weapons, trinkets, and cosmetic items from all the raids that Dragonflight has had. There are a total of four merchants in the Parting Glass location. Three of them are tied to each of Dragonflight's raids, and one is exclusively for purchasing cosmetic items. Each of them costs two tokens. They can also be used to upgrade a legendary item with Scale of Awakening. Weapon cosmetics cost one Antique Bronze Bullion. You can also purchase the Jigglesworth, Sr. mount for three tokens.
Awakened Tempostone tokens can be used to purchase Dragonflight Season 4 set gear. In the east of Valdrakken, in the Parting Glass location, there is a vendor named unaagos, the Neurotic Novelist. It is from him that you can purchase parts of the set of equipment you need.
There are three special rewards for completing all Awakened raids on difficulty. The first reward is the Voyaging Wilderling Mount. You can get it for completing three Awakened raids on normal difficulty or higher in the current fourth season of Dragonflight. For completing these raids on Heroic difficulty or higher, you will receive the Awakened Hero title. The third reward, namely the Path of the Primal Prison, Path of the Bitter Legacy, and Path of the Scorching Dream raid teleporters, can be obtained by completing three raids on Mythic difficulty or higher.
There are no new raid dungeons in the fourth season of Dragonflight, so there are no achievements like Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge. However, there are new achievements that can be obtained by killing all raid bosses in Dragonflight season 4 on different difficulty levels.
Explore synergies with other classes, especially if you're raiding with friends. This way, you can unleash the full potential of your characters by supporting each other and creating interesting combinations.
Optimise your gear and stats: Make sure you're wearing the best gear you can afford. If possible, buy it at an auction or upgrade what you have. Choose a different specialisation or try out other talents to unleash your character's full potential.
The more difficult raid levels can be extremely tiring and require clear coordination, well-coordinated play, and constant support for each other. When playing together with friends, this is easier to achieve thanks to the constant support in voice chat. You can better understand who needs help and what kind of help they need.
After completing a raid, don't forget to analyse your strengths and weaknesses, study and learn from your mistakes to prevent them in the future. Learn the timings, boss movements, best paths, etc. to make future raids easier.
Don't forget to use addons, especially those that help you with ability rotation, as well as show your DPS and HPS, so you can see how far you are behind compared to others, or vice versa, show good results. You should also not neglect the Deadly Boss Mod addon, which will tell you what to do in the current situation.
