Velvet Sword of St. Trina
We begin our review of swords in the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree with the Velvet Sword of St. Trina. This mystical weapon primarily scales with strength, dexterity, and intelligence, making it an excellent choice for those who prefer a combination of physical and magical play styles.
The main feature of this weapon is its skill, Mists of Eternal Sleep, which releases a purple mist with each strike, inflicting the effect of eternal sleep, putting regular enemies into a deep slumber and even pausing bosses. This gives you moments to deal extra blows. It is particularly effective against the Putrescent Knight.
To obtain this weapon, head to the Stone Coffin Fissure dungeon on the southern coast of the Cerulean Coast. Start by breaking the powerful seal on the main gates of the hereditary dungeon Shadow Keep in northern Scadu Altus.
Once the seal is broken, proceed to the large fissure on the southern edge of the Cerulean Coast. Descend the ledges and navigate through the dungeon until you reach the Fissure Cross and Miquella's Cross, sites of grace.
From there, head northwest to find a nearly vertical stone coffin stuck in the cliff. Carefully descend the stone ruins below it until you reach the ground. Move east to find a small cave beneath the massive stone coffin. Defeat the local enemies to obtain the Velvet Sword of St. Trina.
Stone-Sheathed Sword, Sword of Light and Sword of Darkness
The Stone-Sheathed Sword is a versatile weapon in Elden Ring found in the Realm of Shadow. This weapon can transform into either the Sword of Darkness or the Sword of Light, depending on the altars you visit in the Realm of Shadow.
The first altar where you find the sword will no longer be relevant to you. The primary skill of the Stone-Sheathed Sword is Square Off. With its help, you can either deliver a sharp upward strike through the enemy's defense or perform a running attack.
To transform the Stone-Sheathed Sword into the Sword of Light, take it to an unused Light and Darkness altar. Interact with the altar to receive the prompt, "Raise the Stone-Sheathed Sword to the light?"
Selecting "YES" will transform your Stone-Sheathed Sword into the Sword of Light, which has a powerful area-of-effect skill. This skill raises the sword upward, releasing a blinding light that pierces the surrounding area and temporarily enhances your sacred attacks.
The Sword of Darkness is the next form, sharing the same scales, attacks, and sacred damage as the Sword of Light. However, its unique skill releases clouds of darkness instead of holy rays, which deal damage.
To obtain the Sword of Darkness, take the Sword of Light to the last unused Light and Darkness altar. Transform it by interacting with the altar and selecting "Raise the Sword of Light to the dark." You can switch between the Sword of Light and the Sword of Darkness at any time by visiting the corresponding altars.
Milady
Milady is another intriguing weapon in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. This sword is not only elegant but also boasts impressive range, speed, and damage. It is perfect for bleed builds and other status effects.
To obtain Milady, head to the stone watchtower near Ensis Castle in the northeast of Gravesite Plain. From the Castle Front site of grace, move northeast, crossing the bridge guarded by a large knight-troll.
Continue climbing the stone stairs, following the stone wall to the left. Climb a small wooden ladder on the back of the wall to reach the watchtower. At the top, open the treasure chest to obtain Milady. The primary skill of Milady is Impaling Thrust, a powerful move that pierces enemy shields, gathering power before delivering a mighty blow.
Rellana's Twinblade
Rellana's Twinblade is a lightweight greatsword in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, equipped with the Moon-and-Fire Stance ability. This allows you to perform a combination of magical strikes and a spinning fire strike.
To maximize the weapon's potential, focus on increasing strength and dexterity, meeting the minimum intelligence requirements, and allocate points to the faith attribute for buffs like Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength.
Rellana's Twinblade can be obtained by exchanging the Remembrance of the Twin Moon Knight with Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold. This remembrance is obtained by defeating Rellana, Twin Moon Knight in Ensis Moongazing Grounds, at the end of the hereditary dungeon Castle Ensis.
Leda's Sword
Leda's Sword is designed for repetitive, precisely calculated attacks that increase power through consecutive hits. The weapon's skill, Needle Piercer, deals piercing damage and pairs well with a spear talisman.
The skill costs 19 FP, and its damage depends on the distance. To obtain Leda's Sword, use a red summon sign to defeat enemies in the Cleansing Chamber in Enir-Ilim. This room is east of the Cleansing Chamber Anteroom site of grace. Defeat Needle Knight Leda and her allies to obtain Leda’s Sword.
Lizard Greatsword
The Lizard Greatsword in Elden Ring stands out with its unique appearance, resembling a giant lizard. Although this sword is not the best in its category, it is a cool weapon. It can be found in the catacomb dungeons of the Realm of Shadow.

This weapon can be upgraded with Smithing Stones and equipped with various Ashes of War to suit your build. To obtain the Fire Knight's Greatsword, defeat the Fire Knights in the Shadow Castle, starting from the Warehouse, First Floor site of grace. Equip the Silver Scarab talisman to increase your item discovery rate. Further enhance the weapon with Flame Ashes of War for significant damage boosts.
Moonrithyll's Knight Sword
Moonrithyll's Knight Sword is another colossal sword in Shadow of the Erdtree. It scales with strength, dexterity, and intelligence. This weapon can be upgraded with Somber Smithing Stones to +10.

Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword
The Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword is part of the colossal sword collection, found in the Ruined Forge Starfall Past dungeon on the eastern side of Scadu Altus. This weapon features the Ash of War, White Light Charge, which propels the sword forward with a piercing attack using white light.
To find this greatsword, navigate through the ruined forge. Interact with the anvil to obtain the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword and an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone.
Carian Sorcery Sword
The Carian Sorcery Sword allows you to use spells while also serving as a melee weapon. It is equipped with the skill Impaling Thrust, ideal for piercing enemy shields. To obtain this sword, open a treasure chest on the rooftops above the Castle Ensis Checkpoint site of grace.
Queelign's Greatsword
Queelign's Greatsword is a heavy thrusting weapon that scales with strength, dexterity, and faith. It can be upgraded to +25 using Smithing Stones and an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone. To obtain this sword, use the Iris of Occultation on Queelign in the Prayer Room.
Sword Lance
Another thrusting weapon in the DLC is the Sword Lance, which combines a greatsword and a lance, showing its true power when mounted. Its primary skill, Rancor Slash, uses gravitational force to charge forward.
To obtain the Sword Lance, defeat Commander Gai near the Rear Gates site of grace in the Shadow Castle. Exchange the Remembrance of the Wild Boar Knight for the Sword Lance with Finger Reader Enia at the Roundtable Hold.
Spirit Sword
The Spirit Sword scales with intelligence and dexterity, ideal for hybrid magic builds. It is equipped with the skill Rancor Slash, which summons vengeful spirits to attack enemies. To obtain the Spirit Sword, search the remains of a demi-human corpse in a small graveyard north of the gorge on the northern Cerulean Coast.
Dancing Blade of Ranah
The Dancing Blade of Ranah is a curved sword with a primary attribute of dexterity and features the skill Unending Dance, allowing for repeated strikes. Defeat the Dancer of Ranah in the Southern Nameless Mausoleum on an island near the Cerulean Coast to obtain this weapon.
Falx
Falx is a pair of curved swords with a unique weapon art, Revenger's Blade. Obtain Falx by defeating Hornsent in one of three locations during Hornsent's Quest: Shadow Keep, Ancient Ruins of Rauh, or Enir-Ilim.
Horned Warrior's Sword
The Horned Warrior's Sword is a curved sword with the Ash of War, Horn Calling, which creates piercing horns that deal damage to enemies in a small area. Obtain this weapon by defeating Horned Warriors in the hereditary dungeon Belurat Town Settlement until the sword drops.
Freyja's Greatsword
Freyja's Greatsword is a curved sword that deals physical slashing damage, mainly scaling with the strength attribute. It has the skill Spinning Slash, allowing you to cleave enemies with a spinning attack.
In the Cleansing Chamber, approach the red summon sign in the center and challenge Needle Knight Leda and her allies, including Freyja. Defeat them and loot the nearby corpse to obtain Freyja's Greatsword along with a helmet, armor, and gauntlets.
Horned Warrior's Greatsword
The Horned Warrior's Greatsword is a unique weapon obtained at the end of the DLC by defeating a specific enemy. The weapon has a unique skill called Horn Calling: Storm, which performs a 360-degree sword spin, creating a storm that deals damage to all within its range, with the possibility of two additional strikes.
While this skill cannot be enhanced with Ashes of War, it can be upgraded to +10. To obtain the Horned Warrior's Greatsword, defeat the dual-wielding Horned Warriors in the upper levels of the Belurat dungeon.
Conclusion
Throughout the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, each of these swords offers unique enjoyment, whether practical or aesthetic, thanks to their good skills, parameters, and appearances. Or you can simply expand your collection by gathering all possible types of weapons in the game.
