Sometimes, urgent matters or other reasons might arise, forcing you to leave a competitive match in Counter-Strike 2. This article will discuss various methods of doing so and which one to choose.
As many players are now actively switching to FACEIT, we will also dedicate a few paragraphs to this platform, specifically on how to exit a game on FACEIT.
What are the ways to leave a match?
Of course, we all understand that to leave a match, you simply press ESC and click the “Leave Match” button. However, there are several other methods worth considering.
It should be noted immediately that any game exit initiated by you will affect your “Trust Factor” rating. The essence of Trust Factor is that if you have 1000 units of trust, you will be matched with players who have a similar level of trust. However, as we all know, the lower the Trust Factor, the lower the skill, communication, and everything else in a player.
Even more dangerously, with a low Trust Factor (also known as the red Trust Factor), you will end up playing with cheaters.
Having understood this, let's move on. You can also leave a match by typing the “disconnect” or “quit” command into the console. However, you will still have five minutes to return to the game.
If you haven't enabled the console function, follow these tips:
- Open settings
- Go to the “Game” tab
If you change your mind, you can return to the match within these five minutes by pressing the “Reconnect” button in the main game menu. In case of return, this will not affect your Trust Factor.
Moreover, after your exit, a “Technical Pause” will be activated during the next freeze time, lasting one and a half minutes. After this pause, your teammates will have two tactical pauses of 30 seconds each, which they can use one after another to wait for you.

Talk to your teammates
If you need to interrupt your participation in a current Competitive Matchmaking match for any reason, there is a method that can help minimize the penalty for early game termination (known as a temporary competition suspension), affecting your implicit Trust Factor rating. This method involves initiating a vote for your exclusion. If your allies support your decision to leave the game, the consequences of such an exclusion for your Trust Factor will be significantly less than leaving the match on your own.

Punishments
All of the above actions will eventually affect your Trust Factor, which can lead to further problems in your subsequent competitive matches. Therefore, it's better not to start a game at all if you're not 100% sure you can finish it or if you have about 50 minutes of free time.
But if you leave matches very often, you may later receive an in-game ban, preventing you from entering Valve's official match-making for a certain period.
- A 30-minute suspension from the competitive game mode.
- A 2-hour suspension from the competitive game mode.
- A 24-hour suspension from the competitive game mode.
- A 7-day suspension from the competitive game mode.
If you receive your first 30-minute ban, the next violation will threaten you with a 2-hour ban and so on, up to 7 days. The ban counter resets once a week.
Moreover, you should avoid frequent use of this method, as otherwise, the CS2 gaming system may impose temporary competition restrictions on you for "Frequent initiation of kicking players from the team" or for "Regularly being kicked from matches".

Can you initiate a vote kick for yourself in CS2 Premier Mode?
No. Previously in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, this feature was available through the console, but with the release of Counter-Strike 2, the developers removed this function.
How to exit a match on FACEIT?
On the FACEIT platform, there are only two ways to leave a match, one of which is available only with a subscription.
Namely, you can leave the match by typing the “disconnect” or “quit” command in the console. Just like in Premier Mode, you will have another 5 minutes to return to the game without receiving a ban on the platform.
Also, when playing in Premium Faceit, you can kick other players in your match or ask to be kicked yourself. But this will affect your FBI rating, which works just like the Trust Factor in Premier Mode.
For such actions, FACEIT can ban you from 30 minutes to 7 days. Of course, to receive a 7-day ban, you need to constantly leave your matches. But a 30-minute ban will be given upon your first exit.

Conclusion
Sometimes urgent matters or other reasons force players to leave competitive matches in Counter-Strike 2. Real life should always take priority over a game, so feel free to leave matches when you really need to.
In conclusion, it's better not to start a game at all if you are not confident about being able to finish it. Regularly leaving matches leads to negative consequences for your Trust Factor and can result in temporary bans.
