As part of the second match of the third game week at VCT 2025: China Stage 1 featured a clash between XLG Esports and Wolves Esports. Despite the fact that most viewers assumed a completely different outcome, the match ended quite unexpectedly, as we will tell you below.

Dry victory for XLG

Before the match, Wolves Esports were both our favorites and the favorites of the majority of the tournament's viewers, due to their results in the past and this seasons. But despite this, the outcome of the match turned out to be radically different. On the first map, Fracture, XLG had no trouble confirming their choice and won with a score of 14:12. Everyone expected that the opponents would rehabilitate on the second map, but it didn't happen. The newcomers to the tier-1 stage won on Icebox with a score of 13:10, thus becoming the winners of the match.

As a result of the fight, XLG Gaming earned their second victory in a row, while Wolves Esports, after a series of two wins, lost their lead in the standings.

VCT 2025: China Stage 1 takes place from March 13 to May 4 in LAN format at the VCT CN Arena in Shanghai. Twelve VCT China partner teams will compete for 3 invitations to Masters Toronto, as well as China Points, which are needed to qualify for the upcoming World Championship.
