Xand leaves Valorant after long-standing scandal involving racist remarks

Today, the Valorant scene lost a well-known Brazilian star - Alexandre "xand" Zizi. In his social media, the esports player informed fans that he is leaving the Riot Games shooter.

The situation around Xand gained attention a few months ago. During his performance at the Multiplatform Esports Game 2023, where the Brazilian played as a substitute, a video surfaced online from his old game in CS:GO, which took place 7 years ago. The video revealed racist remarks made by Xand during one of the matches. Following this, the tournament organizers disqualified the player, and the community began to criticize him. Read more about it in our article. Today, the situation took a turn, with Xand himself stating that he is “hanging up his boots,” which in sports slang means ending his career.

Alexandre "xand" Zizi spent over three years in Valorant. During this time, the Brazilian player played under many banners, the most famous of which are FURIA Esports, Ninjas in Pyjamas, and KRÜ Esports. He had his best season in 2022, finishing 2nd at VCT 2022: Brazil Stage 1 Challengers, and 3rd-4th at Red Bull Home Ground #3.

It is still unknown what Xand plans for the future. In his Twitter account, he mentioned that he will soon start a live stream where he will share all the details with his fans. Perhaps after so many years, he plans to return to CS2.
