He asks other players why Riot Games doesn't add unique melee kill animations to close combat weapons. For example, he mentions his Oni katana skin. The user claims that for a $50 skin, he would like to receive something more than just a regular attack animation, perhaps a unique finishing effect, or something else.
In the discussion's comments, most readers disagree with the idea of unique melee kill animations for knives. First and foremost, because knife kills are very rare, and in most games, players simply won't have the opportunity to use them. Players also believe that this serves as a form of deterrence against trolling, as players who bought a unique knife skin would constantly try to kill opponents with it, thus disrupting their teammates' gameplay.
While the community's opinion was mostly unanimous, it remains unclear whether the developers actually share this view. Perhaps in the future, we may see melee kill effects in the Exclusive and higher rarity sets.
