Three players have left the Dplus team

The Korean organization, Dplus, has bid farewell to three players from its main Valorant roster. Kim "Lakia" Jong-min, Park "allow" Sang-wook, and Park "Estrella" Gun have left the team. This information was announced on the organization's official Twitter account.

The management of the organization decided not to renew contracts with the three players, suggesting that such decisions are aimed at strengthening the roster for the next season, which will start in February 2024.

The current lineup of team Dplus:

  • Jung "Esperanza" Jin-cheol
  • Park "exy" Geun-cheol
  • Yang "Wenty" Geon-mo
  • Lee “NGen” Jae-hong
  • Kang "solo" Keun-chul (Head Coach)
  • Jung "peri" Beom-gi (Coach)

Team's achievements in the 2023 season

Dplus showcased a remarkable performance in the Korean Challengers League, clinching first place in both splits, which earned the team over $40,000 and a spot in VCT Challengers Ascension: Pacific 2023. However, the team couldn't replicate its league success in the latter tournament, which likely prompted the roster changes.

Who will be the fifth player?

With the current lineup consisting of four players and two coaches, the team needs just one player to compete in the league. It is likely that they will pick a player from Korea, or at least someone who speaks Korean, so the team doesn't have to change its communication language and that the change justifies the expectations for the upcoming season.

The next event for Dplus

The teams have finished the current season and have taken a break until next year. The first tournament for the team will be the start of the Challengers League in February 2024, where teams will compete for a spot in the premier league.
