The skin set dedicated to Valorant Champions 2023 raised over 40 million dollars

Recently, Riot Games shared statistics of the new championship skin set's sales on their Twitter account. According to the game developers' information, the set has already been sold for a sum of over $40,000,000, and there are still 5 days left for the sale.

Company representatives reported that the championship set brought in over 40 million dollars for Riot Games. However, as per the sales rules of the set, half of the total amount will be shared among all 16 teams that participated in the championship. As a result, $20,000,000 will be split among the clubs, meaning each will receive 1.25 million dollars. It's worth noting that this is more than the main championship prize, as the winning team will receive $1,000,000. We also remind you that the prize might increase by several million since the set's sale will continue until August 29, three days after the championship ends.

Looking back at the previous championship, it's evident that Valorant's popularity is significantly increasing, with a substantial growth in the audience. In 2022, championship participants earned $16,000,000 from skin sales, which means the set was sold for 32 million dollars.

We'd like to remind that the set was announced at the end of the previous month, but developers kept the suspense alive by feeding the audience with bits of information. You can read more about the set in our article. Despite the large sales figures, not everyone was pleased with the new skins. Many fans expected a new skin for the Operator, since a Vandal skin was already in the 2021 championship set. Fans also criticized the kunai knife, which looks like a cheap replica of the CS:GO's Skeleton Knife. You can read about the fans' dissatisfaction in our article.
