The merger of Excel Esports and Giants Gaming - Joint Valorant roster to compete under new tag

Tonight, an important event took place in the European Valorant scene. Two well-known organizations announced their merger and also introduced a new name under which their joint Valorant roster will compete.

Representatives of Spain's Giants Gaming, together with the British organization Excel Esports, stated that the time has come to start a new chapter in the life of both companies. A merger was announced on a new Twitter account, after which it became known that the newly formed combined organization will be named GIANTX. It is under this tag that the updated Valorant roster, which was revealed through a video announcement, will compete.

Although the Valorant team is considered updated, in reality, it's merely a formality. The new team includes all former members of Giants, including players, streamers, and coaching staff members. Only Daniela "Jupi" Gradl, as a content creator, joined from Excel Esports. This is because the British organization had disbanded its Valorant roster at the end of 2022 and had not invited new members since then.

New GIANTX Roster

  • Kirill "Cloud" Nehozhin
  • Adolfo "Fit1nho" Gallego
  • Aaro "hoody" Peltokangas
  • Žygimantas "nukkye" Chmieliauskas
  • Igor "Redgar" Vlasov
  • Daniil "pipsoN" Meshcheryakov (coach)

It is currently unknown in which league the newly formed team will compete. However, considering the partnership with Giants Gaming, it can be assumed that the new team will also have a place in the top league and will immediately start the 2024 year in VCT.
