Yesterday, there were significant changes in the Indonesian Valorant scene. The well-known team Alter Ego published an unexpected announcement, stating that they had signed the champions of the Red Bull Campus Clutch 2023 student tournament to their roster.
In their official Twitter account, team representatives mentioned that it was time to welcome a new generation. Following this, the team announced the signing of all players from the student team GARUDA. These players recently became champions of the Red Bull Campus Clutch 2023, after an incredible series of victories, losing only one map in the grand final. Thanks to their victory, the team won a prize fund of €20,000 and became well-known throughout the Valorant community.
We warmly welcome our fantastic four players and the head coach, who are joining the Alter Ego Valorant family as part of the preparation for VCT Challengers 2024! Together, we embark on an exciting journey to victory!
Alter Ego, in turn, had a somewhat ambiguous performance this season. The team failed the first stage of VALORANT Challengers 2023: Indonesia Split 1, finishing in 5-6th place, but then redeemed themselves and took 3rd place in the second stage. The club also finished third in the off-season Predator League Indonesia 2024, but this did not save the team from disbanding. Now, the team begins to compete with a completely renewed lineup.
The new Alter Ego lineup
For now, it is unclear how the new lineup will perform in upcoming competitions. The team will compete against experienced tier-2 opponents, so it is uncertain whether the student players can compete with them at the same level.
