The failure of 17 Gaming at VALORANT China Ascension 2023 has led to the disbandment of the team

Following the conclusion of the last significant tournament in 2023 - VALORANT China Ascension 2023, the Chinese organization 17 Gaming announced the disbandment of its Valorant roster.

The failure at the VALORANT China Ascension 2023 meant that 17 Gaming lost the opportunity to become an official partner team in China. This status would have allowed them to compete on the global stage and participate in the VCT China League. Considering this, the management decided to cease development in Valorant and exit this discipline for the time being.

17 Gaming did not achieve significant results, as the team was formed just a few months ago and participated in only two tournaments - VALORANT China Evolution Series Act 3: Heritability, where they finished in 9-12th place, and VALORANT China Ascension 2023, securing 7-8th place.

The roster of 17 Gaming was as follows:

Made in Thailand has officially signed killua to their Valorant roster

It is likely that this is just one of many similar cases we will see in the future. Many Chinese organizations joined Valorant ahead of the official launch in China in the hope of becoming part of the Valorant franchise. However, after failures, some of them may choose a path similar to that taken by 17 Gaming.
