Teams from China train twice as much as representatives from other regions

Today, the well-known content creator Commend shared his observations regarding the professional Valorant scene. He noted the number of matches played on the international stage by a Chinese team compared to representatives from other regions and made an obvious conclusion.

On his Twitter account, Commend shared interesting statistics regarding one of the Chinese teams. According to official data, the EDward Gaming team has played 46 tournament matches since the start of the current VCT 2023 season, and that's not the end, as the team is looking forward to the third stage of the Valorant China Evolution. In contrast, the current world champions Evil Geniuses have played only 29 clashes since the start of the season, almost half as many as the Chinese tops.

By the end of 2023, EDward Gaming will have played over 50 VCT series this year. For comparison, Evil Geniuses have only played 29 series. Should we be surprised by how quickly China has improved?

The content creator suggests that the main advantage of Chinese teams lies in their practice. He's not talking about internal training and exhibition matches, but about full-fledged practice, where the team competes not only with the tops of their region but also with international opponents for a monetary prize, which also serves as an incentive. Commend's readers believe that in the future, Chinese Valorant teams will dominate other regions, as is currently the case in another Riot discipline - League of Legends.

Remember that EDward Gaming has had a good season so far, considering that the team spent most of the time exclusively on the regional scene. The club won the second stage of the FGC Valorant Invitational 2023, and later took 5-6th place at the Valorant Champions 2023. Now the team is competing in the regional Valorant China Evolution league, where they won the first two stages, and are the main favorites for victory in the next one.
