Team Secret: "We Grow Together" - Esquire Philippines Interview

Participants of VCT Pacific were featured in the pages of Esquire Philippines. The team known as Team Secret took part in a photoshoot and gave a brief interview to the Filipino publisher.

The collective known as Team Secret has often been criticized by the community due to its players ages ranging from 19 to 33 years old. Many believe that at such late ages, athletes cannot show outstanding results. However, Jessie Cristy "JessieVash" Cuyco shared his opinion regarding the "invisible barrier" affecting older players in esports. In his remarks, he noted:

My age has never bothered me. For me, what matters is not the number on my passport, but my performance both on the server and beyond. That's why I always strive to work on myself and achieve outstanding results in rankings.

Joining the teammate's statements is Jim "BORKUM" Timbreza, who has been with Team Secret since the inception of the Valorant division.

I don't feel like a 27-year-old. Our group atmosphere is such that we are a team. When we train, we treat each other as equals. We grow together.

Prior to the beginning of 2024, Team Secret had relatively low performances in seasonal tournaments. Few believed that the team could show something new, but the recent roster changes disproved these doubts. After the addition of Noel "NDG" De Guia, the team competed in the Asia Pacific Predator League 2024 and, to the surprise of many fans, emerged victorious, earning them a $65,000 prize. It was this event that caught the attention of Esquire Philippines, prompting them to interview the players.
