Team DRX captain calls for Ascent map to be removed from Valorant

During an interview with GINX TV, DRX captain Kim "stax" Gu-taek, speaking on behalf of all Valorant users, called for the removal of the Ascent map from the current map pool. Instead, he suggested adding the Fracture or Pearl maps, citing their lack of presence in the current meta.

DRX, leading in the group stage of VCT Pacific 2024 Stage 1 in South Korea with 4 wins and 0 losses, emphasized the need to update the Valorant map pool in light of growing fatigue from the "boring map with unchanged meta".

Not long ago, Brazilian captain Saadhak from LOUD expressed his opinion on the current map pool. Calling the current Valorant rotation "the worst in history". He urged Riot Games to bring back Haven and Pearl maps to diversify the gameplay.

The last change to the map pool occurred with the release of patch 8.0 in January 2024, when Haven was removed, and Icebox returned to the list of playable maps. It remains to be seen whether Ascent, which has been present in the Valorant map pool since its release in 2020, will be excluded from the list in the near future.
