Talon Esports head coach once rejected Primmie during tryouts: What really happened?

Recently, Talon Esports head coach, FrosT, revealed that he once rejected Primmie during tryouts, despite Primmie now being the team's leading duelist. During an episode of SpikeTalk, Talon Esports players shared behind-the-scenes details of this incident.

As it turned out, during the tryouts, Primmie played as if it were just an ordinary ranked match. Playing as Cypher, he single-handedly defended mid and even secured an ace. However, Primmie did not communicate verbally with the team, interacting only through the chat. In one round, he refused to fall back for a retake with the team and, staying on-site, eliminated three opponents who entered the point.

FrosT reaction and decision not to accept

Primmie selfish playstyle displeased FrosT, who pointed out that such actions are risky and that the player should have focused on retaking with the team, as it is impossible to consistently perform such extraordinary plays. However, Primmie disagreed, insisting that holding angles correctly allowed him to take out multiple opponents.

Ultimately, FrosT saw this as a red flag and rejected Primmie during the tryouts. However, Primmie was eventually accepted into the team, and FrosT now acknowledges that he should have considered Primmie's exceptional gaming skills. The coach noted that he will work on correcting Primmie's mistakes and improving his in-game decisions in the future.

Joining Talon Esports and debut

Moreover, before the match against DRX in VCT Pacific 2024 Stage 2, Primmie expressed to Crws his desire to play for Talon Esports. Crws supported him and, after the match, returned from Korea to Thailand to speak with Primmie's parents. In his debut match against Team Secret, Primmie took on the role of IGL, as the other Talon Esports players were unsure how to play on the new map, Abyss. The team secured a 13-11 victory.
