T1 returns to a korean roster in 2025

In an interview with RTP Arena, T1 CEO, Joe Marsh, announced that the team will return to a roster comprised exclusively of Korean players in 2025, moving away from the multinational lineup used in the 2024 season. Last season, T1 signed Rossy and xccurate, but Marsh believes that the transition to a Korean roster was necessary for improving performance.

I think we should have switched from a multinational roster to one with Korean players, but we didn't. Therefore, I feel like we couldn't meet the expectations regarding tournament formats and play style.
said Marsh

He also added that a team of 11 players is planned for 2025, including the recently announced academy team.

Talent Development

One of the reasons for T1 success in other disciplines, such as League of Legends, has been the development of new talent. Marsh emphasized that the team has an esports academy with 250 students, half of whom already play VALORANT.

Our VALORANT division's goal is to find the best players who have played exclusively in VALORANT.
he stated

Future Strategy

T1 is actively investing in young players at the grassroots level, hoping to discover new talent in Korea. Marsh stated that the VALORANT roster, set to be announced in October, "will truly be remarkable." He expressed confidence that the team will succeed next year, while also noting that they want to compete.

New Faces in the Academy Team

Recently, T1 announced its academy team, which includes Korean players TenTen, DH, GangPin, Moothie, and exa. Given the mention of three additional Korean players, it can be inferred that new faces will join the existing main team players Carpe, iZu, and stax. There is also growing interest in "finding the VALORANT version of Faker," highlighting the increasing attention towards T1's future activities.
