Once considered one of the top teams in the Korean region, Gen.G Esports had an unconvincing start to the current season, failing to qualify for Masters Bangkok. This led to a series of roster changes, which continued today with the addition of Seo "Suggest" Jae-young to the main lineup.
Gen.G’s achievements
In 2024, the team had an outstanding season, securing 1st place at VCT 2024: Pacific Kickoff, 2nd place at VALORANT Masters Madrid 2024, 1st place at VALORANT Masters Shanghai 2024, 1st place at VCT 2024: Pacific Stage 2, and finishing 9th-12th at VALORANT Champions 2024. These results cemented Gen.G as one of the strongest teams not only in the Pacific region but worldwide.

However, after the season, the organization transferred three of its players to T1, who went on to win Masters Bangkok this year. Following this, Gen.G’s performance declined, and after finishing 3rd at Kickoff, they failed to qualify for the aforementioned Masters event.

Suggest’s return to the tier-1 scene
Today, it was announced that the roster changes are still ongoing. Gen.G’s official social media accounts confirmed the arrival of a new player, Seo "Suggest" Jae-young.

The Korean player previously competed for DFM from 2022 to 2024 before moving to the lesser-known tier-2 team F4Q. His transfer to Gen.G marks his return to the VCT stage. The team’s first match with the new lineup will take place in just three days at VCT Pacific Stage 1, where fans will get their first look at the updated Gen.G roster in action.
