Skuba joins NRG VALORANT, Bonkar returns as head coach

Logan "skuba" Jenkins has officially joined NRG’s main VALORANT roster, while Malkolm "bonkar" Rench returns as the team’s head coach. The organization announced both changes via its official X (formerly Twitter) account.

Skuba, previously a part of Sentinels’ academy team, has never played at the tier-1 level before. Though experienced on the professional scene, this marks his first opportunity to prove himself at the highest level. Most recently, he competed with Cubert Academy, placing 4th at the VALORANT Challengers 2025 North America: Stage 1. Known for his versatile agent pool — including both smokers and sentinels — he is expected to take over a supportive role, replacing FNS, who recently retired from professional play.

Current NRG VALORANT Roster:

Alongside Skuba’s arrival, Malkolm "bonkar" Rench has been reinstated as head coach after being benched in March, when Michael "Mikes" Hockom temporarily stepped in. Under Mikes, NRG placed 7–8th at VCT 2025: Americas Stage 1. Bonkar and Skuba previously worked together at Oxygen Esports in 2024, making it likely that bonkar played a key role in this roster decision.

NRG’s next appearance is expected to be in the online qualifiers for the Esports World Cup 2025, with dates and participating teams yet to be announced. Following that, their likely final event of the year will be VCT 2025: Americas Stage 2 in July, where two slots for Champions will be up for grabs.
