On March 24th, the final of the VCT 2024 Masters Madrid took place, where the Sentinels team defeated Gen.G and emerged victorious in the competition. A player from Sentinels named johnqt became the first African player to win an international tournament.
This player began his career in CS:GO, then transitioned to the professional Valorant scene in 2020. In Morocco, he played for the Viboras and Fox Gaming teams, winning the Strike Arabia North Africa tournament. In 2021, johnqt moved to Montreal, Canada, to pursue his competitive career in North America.
In North America, johnqt played for Ghost Gaming and M80 teams, and this season he joined Sentinels as the team captain, ultimately winning his first international tournament - Masters Madrid. He expressed joy over the victory, saying:
