SCARZ Announces departure of Valorant general manager noppo

On August 31, the Japanese esports team SCARZ announced the termination of their contract with noppo, who served as the General Manager of the Valorant division.

Career and Achievements of noppo

The 36-year-old noppo, a legendary player known for his performances in the competitive Counter-Strike scene from the 2000s to the early 2010s, has been a key figure in Japanese esports. In 2012, at the Asia e-Sports Cup tournament, he delivered an "incredible performance" that is still remembered by viewers, leading his team to victory. Additionally, noppo worked as a coach for DeToNator in 2015 and organized esports tournaments under the UTAGE brand starting in 2019, actively contributing to the development of the domestic scene.

noppo’s Role at SCARZ

In 2021, noppo was appointed head coach of the Jadeite team, with whom he secured second place at the VCJ 2023 Split 2 tournament. In October 2023, he joined SCARZ as a coach, successfully leading a multinational roster and bringing the team to the main stage of the VCJ 2024 Split 1 and Split 2 tournaments.

In his statement on X (formerly Twitter), noppo thanked the team and fans for their support, noting that working with SCARZ was an invaluable experience for him, despite the challenges posed by language barriers and different structures. He also expressed regret that he could not meet expectations.
